William "Chip" Watts Named CPM® of the Year for IREM® Alabama Chapter 43

Chip Watts has been named Certified Property Manager (CPM®) of the Year for IREM® Alabama Chapter 43 by the international Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®). Watts was presented the award on Tuesday, November 16 by Janice A. Johns, the outgoing 2010 IREM® Alabama Chapter President. IREM’s CPM certification is considered to be the real estate industry’s highest management credential. In October, Watts was named Regional Vice President for IREM®. In addition to his current service with IREM®, Watts is chair of the IREM® Chapter Leadership Forum, its AMO® Task Force and is a member of the IREM® Governing Council. Watts started his real estate career in 1998 as General Manger of Watts Realty Company Inc., the company his family founded in 1906, and became President and Qualifying Broker in 2006. During his tenure with the firm, he received the Centennial Award from the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce and the IREM® AMO® accreditation on behalf of the company.
